Vancouver Skates Past New York 6-5 - Recap

Vancouver got a pair of goals from Elias Pettersson as the Canucks skated to a 6-5 victory over New York on Thursday at UBS Arena.

Bettors who backed the Canucks were rewarded as +192 underdogs at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 6.0.

Elias Pettersson(2), Brock Boeser, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Nils Aman, and Anthony Beauvillier each scored for the Canucks in the victory. Ekman-Larsson opened the scoring for Vancouver.

Collin Delia stopped 24 of 29 New York shots in the victory.

Mathew Barzal, Brock Nelson, Noah Dobson, Bo Horvat, and Kyle Palmieri scored for the Islanders, finding the net behind Collin Delia.

Ilya Sorokin stopped 28 of 34 shots for the Islanders, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Vancouver went 2-for-4, while the Islanders were 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

New York lost the shots on goal battle to Vancouver by a margin of 34-29.

Next game, Vancouver takes its act on the road to face Detroit looking for another win. For New York, they head on the road to face Montreal.
