Michigan State Defeats Indiana 24-21 - Recap

Michigan State earned a 24-21 victory over Indiana on Saturday in Week 12 action at Memorial Stadium.

The Spartans were a +3.5-point underdog in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 47.0.

Nate Carter rushed for 42 yards, while Jaren Mangham added 23 yards in the win. Maliq Carr and Montorie Foster Jr. added 100 and 93 receiving yards respectively.

Trent Howland rushed for 77 yards for Indiana, while Josh Henderson added 74 yards. Brendan Sorsby threw for 192 yards for the Hoosiers, while receivers Donaven McCulley and DeQuece Carter had 72 and 59 yards respectively.

Indiana outgained Michigan State 402-317 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 23-22 by the Hoosiers.

The time of possession battle favored Michigan State as their offense was on the field for 31:04, longer than the 28:56 of their opponents.

Next game, Michigan State takes its act home to face Penn State looking for another win. For Indiana, they head on the road to face Purdue.
