Recap - Trojans Defeat Texas State 31-13
Gunnar Watson's 392-yard performance through the air was the key in Troy's 31-13 win over Texas State on Saturday at Jim Wacker Field at Bobcat Stadium.
The Trojans were a -6.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 53.0.
Gunnar Watson completed 26 of 40 pass attempts for 392 yards for the Trojans in the win.
Ismail Mahdi rushed for 128 yards for Texas State, while Malik Hornsby added 11 yards. TJ Finley threw for 262 yards for the Bobcats, while receivers Kole Wilson and Ashtyn Hawkins had 71 and 57 yards respectively.
Texas State outgained Troy 437-420 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 26-22 by the Bobcats.
Troy led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 30:58-29:02 split in that important category.
Troy heads into a 10 battle against South Alabama. Texas State, meanwhile, will have their next action against Georgia Southern.
