Bearkats Fall 21-16 Against Liberty - Game Recap
Quinton Cooley scampered through the Sam Houston State defense for 106 yards as Liberty handed the Bearkats a 21-16 defeat on Thursday at Williams Stadium.
The Flames won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -21.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.
Quinton Cooley rushed for 106 yards, while Kaidon Salter added 38 yards in the win. CJ Daniels and Elijah Smoot added 157 and 39 receiving yards respectively.
Keegan Shoemaker rushed for 52 yards for Sam Houston State, while Malik Phillips added 8 yards. Keegan Shoemaker threw for 255 yards for the Bearkats, while receivers Noah Smith and Malik Phillips had 97 and 94 yards respectively.
Sam Houston State lost the time of possession battle 32:36-27:24, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
