Aggies Fall 33-17 Against Liberty - Game Recap

Quinton Cooley scampered through the New Mexico State defense for 106 yards as Liberty handed the Aggies a 33-17 defeat on Saturday at Williams Stadium.

Liberty won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -9.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 54.5.

Quinton Cooley rushed for 106 yards, while Billy Lucas added 90 yards in the win. CJ Daniels and Bentley Hanshaw added 129 and 45 receiving yards respectively.

Diego Pavia rushed for 65 yards for New Mexico State, while Monte Watkins added 45 yards. Diego Pavia threw for 150 yards for the Aggies, while receivers Chris Bellamy and Jordan Smith had 74 and 29 yards respectively.

New Mexico State lost the offensive yardage battle to Liberty 526-341 yards in Saturday's game. Liberty had more first downs as that total ended up 26-16.

Liberty led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 37:54-22:06 split in that important category.

Next game, Liberty takes its act on the road to face Buffalo looking for another win. For New Mexico State, they head on the road to face New Mexico.
