Bowling Green Falls 34-24 to Flames - Recap

The Flames were Week 1 winners on Saturday, coming out on top of the Falcons by a score of 34-24 at Williams Stadium.

Liberty won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -8.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 49.0.

Kaidon Salter rushed for 82 yards, while Quinton Cooley added 78 yards in the win. Treon Sibley and Aaron Bedgood added 56 and 30 receiving yards respectively.

Ta'ron Keith rushed for 69 yards for Bowling Green, while Terion Stewart added 55 yards. Camden Orth threw for 66 yards for the Falcons, while receivers Odieu Hiliare and Abdul-Fatai Ibrahim had 59 and 34 yards respectively.

Bowling Green lost the offensive yardage battle to Liberty 389-328 yards in Saturday's game. Liberty had more first downs as that total ended up 22-19.

Bowling Green lost the time of possession battle 32:55-27:05, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Liberty looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against New Mexico State. Bowling Green will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Eastern Illinois.
