Rice Falls 56-23 to 49ers - Recap
The battle between the 49ers and Owls didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Rice was handed a 56-23 defeat on Saturday at Rice Stadium.
Charlotte was the ATS victor, as they covered the +15.0-point spread as an underdog. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 61.0 were rewarded at the payout window.
Shadrick Byrd rushed for 83 yards, while Calvin Camp added 80 yards in the win. Elijah Spencer and Victor Tucker added 84 and 59 receiving yards respectively.
TJ McMahon rushed for 45 yards for Rice, while Luke McCaffrey added 37 yards. TJ McMahon threw for 218 yards for the Owls, while receivers Bradley Rozner and Luke McCaffrey had 105 and 58 yards respectively.
Charlotte outgained Rice 514-370 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 25-20 by the 49ers.
The time of possession battle favored Charlotte as their offense was on the field for 31:57, longer than the 28:03 of their opponents.
Charlotte looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against WKU. Rice will aim to get back on the winning track vs. UTEP.
