Recap - Jaguars Defeat Louisiana-Lafayette 20-17

Caullin Lacy caught 5 passes for 112 yards against the Louisiana-Lafayette defense as South Alabama handed the Ragin' Cajuns a 20-17 loss on Saturday at Cajun Field.

The Jaguars earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -8.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 46.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.

La'Damian Webb rushed for 75 yards, while Braylon McReynolds added 25 yards in the win. Caullin Lacy and Jalen Wayne added 112 and 55 receiving yards respectively.

Chris Smith rushed for 107 yards for Louisiana-Lafayette, while Ben Wooldridge added 36 yards. Ben Wooldridge threw for 90 yards for the Ragin' Cajuns, while receivers Peter LeBlanc and Michael Jefferson had 23 and 21 yards respectively.

South Alabama outgained Louisiana-Lafayette 361-278 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 21-17 by the Jaguars.

The time of possession battle favored South Alabama as their offense was on the field for 30:18, longer than the 29:42 of their opponents.

South Alabama heads into a 7 battle against Louisiana-Monroe. Louisiana-Lafayette, meanwhile, will have their next action against Marshall.
