Recap - Flames Defeat Akron 21-12

The Zips had no answer for Dae Dae Hunter on Saturday as the Flames rolled to a 21-12 win at Williams Stadium.

Liberty won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -26.5-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 52.5.

Dae Dae Hunter rushed for 118 yards, while Shedro Louis added 28 yards in the win. Jaivian Lofton and Demario Douglas added 47 and 40 receiving yards respectively.

Cam Wiley rushed for 52 yards for Akron, while Jonzell Norrils added 1 yards. DJ Irons threw for 269 yards for the Zips, while receivers Daniel George and Alex Adams had 93 and 48 yards respectively.

Liberty was outgained by Akron 321-309 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 19-18 by the Zips.

Akron led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:08-28:52 split in that important category.

Liberty heads into a Week 5 battle against Old Dominion. Akron, meanwhile, will have their next action against Bowling Green.
