Purdue Falls 35-31 to Nittany Lions - Recap

The Nittany Lions were Week 1 winners on Thursday, coming out on top of the Boilermakers by a score of 35-31 at Ross-Ade Stadium.

Penn State was a favorite by -3.5 points and came through with an ATS victory for bettors. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 53.5.

Kaytron Allen rushed for 31 yards, while Keyvone Lee added 30 yards in the win. Mitchell Tinsley and Brenton Strange added 84 and 77 receiving yards respectively.

King Doerue rushed for 57 yards for Purdue, while Dylan Downing added 14 yards. Aidan O'Connell threw for 356 yards for the Boilermakers, while receivers Charlie Jones and Mershawn Rice had 153 and 59 yards respectively.

Penn State lost the offensive yardage battle to Purdue 426-406 yards in Thursday's game. Purdue had more first downs as that total ended up 26-24.

The time of possession battle favored Penn State as their offense was on the field for 30:44, longer than the 29:16 of their opponents.

Penn State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Ohio. Purdue will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Indiana State.
