Southern Miss Falls 30-7 to Hurricanes - Recap

Southern Miss couldn't hang with the Hurricanes on Saturday as Miami-FL blasted the Golden Eagles 30-7 in Week 2 action at Hard Rock Stadium.

The Hurricanes won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -27.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Henry Parrish Jr. rushed for 97 yards, while Thaddius Franklin Jr. added 57 yards in the win. Xavier Restrepo and Brashard Smith added 72 and 53 receiving yards respectively.

Zach Wilcke rushed for 15 yards for Southern Miss, while Frank Gore Jr. added 10 yards. Zach Wilcke threw for 207 yards for the Golden Eagles, while receivers Jason Brownlee and Demarcus Jones had 102 and 36 yards respectively.

Miami-FL outgained Southern Miss 445-231 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 24-12 by the Hurricanes.

The time of possession battle favored Miami-FL as their offense was on the field for 36:54, longer than the 22:46 of their opponents.

Next game, Miami-FL takes its act on the road to face Texas A&M looking for another win. For Southern Miss, they head home to face Northwestern State.
