Golden Bears Fall 28-21 Against Washington - Game Recap

Michael Penix Jr. led the way with 374 passing yards on Saturday as the Huskies picked up a 28-21 victory over the Golden Bears at FTX Field at California Memorial Stadium.

The Huskies won the battle on the scoreboard, but not at the payout window as they failed to cover the -7.5-point spread. UNDER bettors were rewarded when the final score pointed to an UNDER play.

Michael Penix Jr. completed 36 of 51 pass attempts for 374 yards for the Huskies in the win.

DeCarlos Brooks rushed for 43 yards for California, while Jaydn Ott added 38 yards. Jack Plummer threw for 245 yards for the Golden Bears, while receivers J.Michael Sturdivant and Mavin Anderson had 104 and 53 yards respectively.

California lost the offensive yardage battle to Washington 476-306 yards in Saturday's game. Washington had more first downs as that total ended up 28-18.

California lost the time of possession battle 35:25-24:35, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Washington looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Oregon State. California will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Oregon.
