Stanford Falls 40-22 to Huskies - Recap

Michael Penix Jr. led the way with 309 passing yards on Saturday as the Huskies picked up a 40-22 victory over the Cardinal at Alaska Airlines Field at Husky Stadium.

The Huskies were a -13.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters. The combined score pushed PUSH the total, which closed at 62.0.

Michael Penix Jr. completed 22 of 37 pass attempts for 309 yards for the Huskies in the win.

Casey Filkins rushed for 100 yards for Stanford, while Michael Wilson added 12 yards. Tanner McKee threw for 286 yards for the Cardinal, while receivers Michael Wilson and Elijah Higgins had 176 and 37 yards respectively.

Stanford was outgained by Washington 478-372 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-18 by the Huskies.

Stanford lost the time of possession battle 33:30-26:30, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Washington looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against UCLA. Stanford will aim to get back on the winning track at Oregon.
