Baylor Defeats Texas State 42-7 - Recap

Baylor got a 156-yard performance from Richard Reese as a key part of its 42-7 victory over the Bobcats on Saturday at McLane Stadium.

Baylor won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -30.0-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 53.0.

Richard Reese rushed for 156 yards, while Craig Williams added 56 yards in the win. Gavin Holmes and Josh Fleeks added 46 and 45 receiving yards respectively.

Calvin Hill rushed for 41 yards for Texas State, while Josh Berry added 36 yards. Layne Hatcher threw for 186 yards for the Bobcats, while receivers Ashtyn Hawkins and Julian Ortega-Jones had 114 and 34 yards respectively.

Texas State lost the offensive yardage battle to Baylor 501-268 yards in Saturday's game. Baylor had more first downs as that total ended up 23-17.

Baylor lost the time of possession battle 31:32-28:28, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Baylor takes its act on the road to face Iowa State looking for another win. For Texas State, they head home to face Houston Baptist.
