Utah Defeats San Diego State 35-7 - Recap

The battle between the Utes and Aztecs didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as San Diego State was handed a 35-7 defeat on Saturday at Rice-Eccles Stadium.

Utah was the ATS victor, as they covered the -22.0-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 48.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Tavion Thomas rushed for 59 yards, while Micah Bernard added 44 yards in the win. Brant Kuithe and Devaughn Vele added 64 and 38 receiving yards respectively.

Jaylon Armstead rushed for 31 yards for San Diego State, while Jordan Byrd added 29 yards. Kyle Crum threw for 53 yards for the Aztecs, while receivers Josh Nicholson and Jesse Matthews had 23 and 15 yards respectively.

San Diego State was outgained by Utah 398-173 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 22-9 by the Utes.

The time of possession battle favored Utah as their offense was on the field for 31:16, longer than the 28:44 of their opponents.

Utah heads into a Week 4 battle against Arizona State. San Diego State, meanwhile, will have their next action against Toledo.
