South Carolina Defeats Vanderbilt 21-20 - Recap

Jaheim Bell caught 6 passes for 136 yards against the Vanderbilt defense as South Carolina handed the Commodores a 21-20 loss on Saturday at Williams-Brice Stadium.

Bettors who backed the Gamecocks were disappointed, as they failed to cover the closing number of -19.0. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 50.0.

ZaQuandre White rushed for 65 yards, while Kevin Harris added 35 yards in the win. Jaheim Bell and Josh Vann added 136 and 44 receiving yards respectively.

Rocko Griffin rushed for 57 yards for Vanderbilt, while Mike Wright added 41 yards. Mike Wright threw for 206 yards for the Commodores, while receivers Will Sheppard and Cam Johnson had 120 and 46 yards respectively.

Vanderbilt was outgained by South Carolina 434-312 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 17-15 by the Gamecocks.

The time of possession battle favored Vanderbilt as their offense was on the field for 31:13, longer than the 28:47 of their opponents.

Next game, South Carolina takes its act on the road to face Texas A&M looking for another win. For Vanderbilt, they head home to face Mississippi State.
