Eastern Michigan Defeats Texas State 59-21 - Recap

The battle between the Eagles and Bobcats didn't turn out to be much of a battle at all as Texas State was handed a 59-21 defeat on Saturday at Rynearson Stadium.

Eastern Michigan won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -7.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 62.5.

Darius Boone Jr. rushed for 86 yards, while Jawon Hamilton added 53 yards in the win. Dylan Drummond and Latrell Fordham added 59 and 58 receiving yards respectively.

Brock Sturges rushed for 68 yards for Texas State, while Calvin Hill added 57 yards. Brady McBride threw for 187 yards for the Bobcats, while receivers Trevis Graham Jr. and Javen Banks had 69 and 38 yards respectively.

Texas State was outgained by Eastern Michigan 499-299 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 33-18 by the Eagles.

Texas State lost the time of possession battle 34:33-25:27, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Eastern Michigan takes its act on the road to face NIU looking for another win. For Texas State, they head home to face South Alabama.
