WKU Hilltoppers vs Army Black Knights Wrap - Army Wins 38-35
The Hilltoppers had no answer for Christian Anderson on Saturday as the Black Knights rolled to a 38-35 win at Blaik Field at Michie Stadium.
The Black Knights earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -6.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 52.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Christian Anderson rushed for 119 yards, while Tyrell Robinson added 81 yards in the win. Braheam Murphy and Brandon Walters added 40 and 17 receiving yards respectively.
Noah Whittington rushed for 33 yards for WKU, while Bailey Zappe added 7 yards. Bailey Zappe threw for 435 yards for the Hilltoppers, while receivers Jerreth Sterns and Mitchell Tinsley had 171 and 93 yards respectively.
Army was outgained by WKU 477-416 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 23-22 by the Black Knights.
WKU lost the time of possession battle 39:38-20:22, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Army looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against UCONN. WKU will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Indiana.
