Mississippi State Defeats Vanderbilt 24-17 - Recap

Mississippi State earned a 24-17 victory over Vanderbilt on Saturday in Week 10 action at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field.

The Bulldogs earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -18.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 45.0 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Jo'quavious Marks rushed for 10 yards, while Dillon Johnson added 4 yards in the win. Malik Heath and Jaden Walley added 79 and 43 receiving yards respectively.

Keyon Henry-Brooks rushed for 115 yards for Vanderbilt, while Rocko Griffin Jr. added 19 yards. Ken Seals threw for 336 yards for the Commodores, while receivers Cam Johnson and Keyon Henry-Brooks had 114 and 97 yards respectively.

Vanderbilt outgained Mississippi State 478-204 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 30-14 by the Commodores.

The time of possession battle favored Vanderbilt as their offense was on the field for 32:10, longer than the 27:50 of their opponents.

Next game, Mississippi State takes its act home to face Auburn looking for another win. For Vanderbilt, they head on the road to face Kentucky.
