Charlotte 49ers vs Appalachian State Mountaineers Wrap - Appalachian State Wins 35-20

The 49ers had no answer for Marcus Williams Jr. on Saturday as the Mountaineers rolled to a 35-20 win at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

The Mountaineers earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the -16.0-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 59.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.

Marcus Williams Jr. rushed for 117 yards, while Camerun Peoples added 102 yards in the win. Thomas Hennigan and Jalen Virgil added 120 and 28 receiving yards respectively.

Tre Harbison III rushed for 87 yards for Charlotte, while Chris Reynolds added 34 yards. Chris Reynolds threw for 140 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Taylor Thompson and Cameron Dollar had 62 and 25 yards respectively.

Charlotte was outgained by Appalachian State 512-286 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 29-16 by the Mountaineers.

Appalachian State led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 31:23-28:37 split in that important category.

Next game, Appalachian State takes its act on the road to face Marshall looking for another win. For Charlotte, they head on the road to face North Carolina.
