Charlotte Falls 56-41 to Mountaineers - Recap

Darrynton Evans ran for 234 yards as Appalachian State handled Charlotte by a score of 56-41 on Saturday at Kidd Brewer Stadium.

Appalachian State did not, however, defeat the 49ers against the spread, which closed at -23.0 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 54.5.

Darrynton Evans rushed for 234 yards, while Daetrich Harrington added 26 yards in the win. Jalen Virgil and Malik Williams added 86 and 73 receiving yards respectively.

Benny LeMay rushed for 118 yards for Charlotte, while Ishod Finger added 75 yards. Chris Reynolds threw for 296 yards for the 49ers, while receivers Micaleous Elder and Victor Tucker had 119 and 90 yards respectively.

Appalachian State lost the offensive yardage battle to Charlotte 526-458 yards in Saturday's game. Charlotte had more first downs as that total ended up 24-16.

The time of possession battle favored Charlotte as their offense was on the field for 33:54, longer than the 26:06 of their opponents.

Next game, Appalachian State takes its act on the road to face North Carolina looking for another win. For Charlotte, they head home to face Massachusetts.
