Recap - Liberty Defeat Indiana 101-83
It sure wasn't going to be a low-scoring affair and New York made sure they came out on the winning end on Sunday, grabbing a 101-83 victory over the Fever at Barclays Center.
Bettors who backed the Liberty were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -13.0 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 170.5.
New York got 22 points from Betnijah Laney and another 18 points from Jonquel Jones. Courtney Vandersloot contributed 10 assists, while Jonquel Jones cleaned the glass with 11 rebounds.
The Fever got a 16-point performance from Victoria Vivians, who was supported by 15 points from Erica Wheeler. Grace Berger had 5 assists in a losing cause for Indiana, while Maya Caldwell grabbed 5 rebounds.
The Liberty hit the break winning 68-46 before taking care of business in the second half.
New York won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 35-25.
New York looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Storm. The Fever will aim to get back on the winning track at Los Angeles.
