Myrtle Beach Invitational - Furman Downs Coastal Carolina 89-80 - Match Report
Furman got 30 points from Marcus Foster en route to a 89-80 victory over Coastal Carolina on Friday at HTC Center.
Furman won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the -11.0-point spread.
Furman got 20 points from Carter Whitt and another 14 points from JP Pegues. Garrett Hien contributed 8 assists, while Carter Whitt cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
Coastal Carolina got 23 points from Kylan Blackmon in a losing cause and another 18 points from Jacob Meyer. Kevin Easley contributed 5 assists for them, while Ginika Ojiako had 9 rebounds.
Furman was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Coastal Carolina had a 36-29 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Next game, Furman takes its act on the road to face UAB looking for another win. For Coastal Carolina, they head home to face North Carolina Central.
