Recap - Marquette Defeats DePaul 89-69
DePaul was run off the court by Marquette on Saturday as they blasted them 89-69 at Wintrust Arena.
Bettors who backed Marquette were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -9.5 at sportsbooks.
Marquette got 28 points from David Joplin and another 24 points from Tyler Kolek. Tyler Kolek contributed 10 assists, while Tyler Kolek cleaned the glass with 9 rebounds.
DePaul got 25 points from Umoja Gibson in a losing cause and another 10 points from Javan Johnson. Caleb Murphy contributed 5 assists for them, while Da'Sean Nelson had 9 rebounds.
Marquette won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 36-23.
Next game, Marquette takes its act home to face Villanova looking for another win. For DePaul, they head home to face Connecticut.
