East Tennessee State Falls 69-59 to Samford - Recap
Logan Dye scored 19 points leading Samford to a 69-59 victory over East Tennessee State at Freedom Hall Civic Center on Wednesday.
Samford won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -4.5-point spread as favorites.
Samford got 17 points from Jermaine Marshall and another 11 points from Jaden Campbell. Logan Dye contributed 3 assists, while Jermaine Marshall cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
East Tennessee State got 18 points from Jalen Haynes in a losing cause and another 11 points from Justice Smith. Allen Strothers contributed 4 assists for them, while Jalen Haynes had 8 rebounds.
Samford was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Samford won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 36-28.
Samford looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Western Carolina. East Tennessee State will aim to get back on the winning track at Chattanooga.
