Recap - Hawaii Defeats UC Irvine 72-67

UC Irvine was burned for 27 points by JoVon McClanahan on Saturday as Hawaii picked up a 72-67 win at SimpliFI Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.

Hawaii won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the -1.5-point spread as favorites.

Hawaii got 14 points from Mor Seck and another 10 points from Samuta Avea. JoVon McClanahan contributed 7 assists, while Mor Seck cleaned the glass with 16 rebounds.

UC Irvine got 27 points from DJ Davis in a losing cause and another 12 points from Dawson Baker. Dawson Baker contributed 3 assists for them, while Ofure Ujadughele had 8 rebounds.

First-half bettors who backed UC Irvine were victorious, as the score was 35-34 at the break.

Hawaii won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 36-35.

Hawaii looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Cal State-Northridge. UC Irvine will aim to get back on the winning track at UC Riverside.
