MGM Grand Main Event Heavyweight - Recap - Wichita State Defeats UNLV 74-73
Wichita State got 28 points from Tyson Etienne en route to a 74-73 victory over UNLV on Monday at T-Mobile Arena.
Wichita State did not, however, defeat UNLV against the spread, which closed at -3.5 at most sportsbooks.
Wichita State got 12 points from Kenny Pohto and another 10 points from Ricky Council IV. Tyson Etienne contributed 4 assists, while Morris Udeze cleaned the glass with 6 rebounds.
UNLV got 18 points from Bryce Hamilton in a losing cause and another 13 points from Michael Nuga. Jordan McCabe contributed 8 assists for them, while Royce Hamm Jr. had 11 rebounds.
Wichita State was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Wichita State had a 28-25 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Wichita State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Missouri. UNLV will aim to get back on the winning track vs. Whiitier College.
