West Virginia Falls 84-81 to Iowa State - Recap
Iowa State got 35 points from Izaiah Brockington en route to a 84-81 victory over West Virginia on Wednesday at James H. Hilton Coliseum.
Iowa State did not, however, defeat West Virginia against the spread, which closed at -5.0 at most sportsbooks.
Iowa State got 17 points from Gabe Kalscheur and another 10 points from Tyrese Hunter. Tyrese Hunter contributed 9 assists, while Izaiah Brockington cleaned the glass with 5 rebounds.
West Virginia got 19 points from Malik Curry in a losing cause and another 19 points from Gabe Osabuohien. Sean McNeil contributed 3 assists for them, while Malik Curry had 6 rebounds.
Iowa State was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
West Virginia won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 34-20.
Next game, Iowa State takes its act on the road to face Kansas State looking for another win. For West Virginia, they head home to face Texas.
