Manhattan Defeats Marist 72-66 - Recap
Marist was burned for 29 points by Jose Perez on Sunday as Manhattan picked up a 72-66 win at Draddy Gymnasium.
Manhattan won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +1.5-point spread as underdogs.
Manhattan got 16 points from Ant Nelson and another 11 points from Elijah Buchanan. Jose Perez contributed 7 assists, while Josh Roberts cleaned the glass with 5 rebounds.
Marist got a 21-point performance from Jao Ituka, who was supported by 19 points from Ricardo Wright. Ricardo Wright had 4 assists in a losing cause for Marist, while Ricardo Wright grabbed 7 rebounds.
Manhattan was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Marist won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 28-20.
Manhattan looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Niagara. Marist will aim to get back on the winning track at Saint Peter's.
