Recap - San Diego Defeats Portland 68-63

Marcellus Earlington scored 21 points and added 10 rebounds for a double-double, leading San Diego over Portland, 68-63, on Thursday at Jenny Craig Pavilion.

San Diego did not, however, defeat Portland against the spread, which closed at -6.5 at most sportsbooks.

Wayne McKinney II had 14 points for San Diego and Yavuz Gultekin chipped in with 12 points. Joey Calcaterra had 4 assists for them, while Yavuz Gultekin was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 10 boards.

Portland got 16 points from Mike Meadows in a losing cause and another 15 points from Chika Nduka. Chris Austin contributed 3 assists for them, while Moses Wood had 12 rebounds.

San Diego was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

San Diego had a 43-42 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.

San Diego looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Loyola Marymount. Portland will aim to get back on the winning track at Pepperdine.
