BYU Cougars vs Gonzaga Bulldogs Recap - Gonzaga Wins 110-84
The battle between Gonzaga and BYU didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as BYU was handed a 110-84 defeat on Thursday at McCarthey Athletic Center.
Gonzaga was a -14.5-point favorite in the win, and managed to turn a profit for their supporters.
Drew Timme had 30 points for Gonzaga and Andrew Nembhard chipped in with 22 points. Andrew Nembhard had 12 assists for them, while Chet Holmgren was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 7 boards.
BYU got a 19-point performance from Alex Barcello, who was supported by 17 points from Caleb Lohner. Alex Barcello had 4 assists in a losing cause for BYU, while Fousseyni Traore grabbed 7 rebounds.
Gonzaga was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Gonzaga won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 30-27.
Gonzaga heads into a battle against Santa Clara. BYU, meanwhile, will have their next action against San Francisco.
