Recap - Rice Defeats UAB 85-80
Travis Evee scored 25 points for Rice on Saturday, leading them to a 85-80 victory over UAB at Tudor Fieldhouse.
Rice won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the +10.5-point spread as underdogs.
Rice got 19 points from Carl Pierre and another 18 points from Mylyjael Poteat. Chris Mullins contributed 4 assists, while Carl Pierre cleaned the glass with 8 rebounds.
UAB got 20 points from Jordan Walker in a losing cause and another 16 points from KJ Buffen. Jordan Walker contributed 7 assists for them, while Trey Jemison had 6 rebounds.
Rice was losing at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Rice won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 34-25.
Next game, Rice takes its act on the road to face Western Kentucky looking for another win. For UAB, they head home to face Florida International.
