Jackson State Falls 70-65 to Drake - Recap
Drake got 17 points from ShanQuan Hemphill as they ran past Jackson State 70-65 on Thursday at Knapp Center.
Drake got 14 points from Garrett Sturtz and another 11 points from Darnell Brodie. D.J. Wilkins contributed 5 assists, while ShanQuan Hemphill cleaned the glass with 12 rebounds.
Jackson State got a 19-point performance from Jayveous McKinnis, who was supported by 17 points from Gabe Watson. Ken Evans Jr. had 3 assists in a losing cause for Jackson State, while Jayveous McKinnis grabbed 10 rebounds.
Drake was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Drake had a 44-32 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Drake looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Chicago State. Jackson State will aim to get back on the winning track at Stephen F. Austin.
