Maui Invitational - Providence Falls 79-58 to Indiana - Recap

The battle between Indiana and Providence didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Providence was handed a 79-58 defeat on Monday at Harrah's Cherokee Center.

Bettors who backed Indiana were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -1.5 at sportsbooks.

Race Thompson had 22 points for Indiana and Aljami Durham chipped in with 19 points. Rob Phinisee had 5 assists for them, while Race Thompson was the team's top rebounder, grabbing 13 boards.

Providence got a 12-point performance from Nate Watson, who was supported by 12 points from David Duke. David Duke had 3 assists in a losing cause for Providence, while Noah Horchler grabbed 9 rebounds.

Indiana was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.

Indiana won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 39-32.

Indiana heads into a battle against Texas. Providence, meanwhile, will have their next action against Davidson.
