Xavier Defeats Georgetown University 66-63 - Recap
Georgetown University was victimized for 20 points and 10 rebounds by Naji Marshall as Xavier defeated them 66-63 in NCAA action on Sunday.
Xavier did not, however, defeat Georgetown University against the spread, which closed at -3.5 at most sportsbooks.
Xavier got 18 points from Tyrique Jones and another 8 points from Paul Scruggs. Naji Marshall contributed 5 assists, while Tyrique Jones cleaned the glass with 13 rebounds.
Georgetown University got 18 points from Jahvon Blair in a losing cause and another 12 points from Jamorko Pickett. Jagan Mosely contributed 7 assists for them, while Timothy Ighoefe had 7 rebounds.
Xavier was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Xavier had a 38-26 advantage in the rebounding department as they won the battle in the paint.
Xavier looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Providence. Georgetown University will aim to get back on the winning track at Creighton.
