Nevada Defeats New Mexico 96-74 - Recap
The battle between Nevada and New Mexico didnt turn out to be much of a battle at all as New Mexico was handed a 96-74 defeat on Saturday at Lawlor Events Center.
Bettors who backed Nevada were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of -10.5 at sportsbooks.
Nevada got 20 points from Nisre Zouzoua and another 19 points from Jalen Harris. Jalen Harris contributed 7 assists, while Johncarlos Reyes cleaned the glass with 11 rebounds.
New Mexico got a 23-point performance from Zane Martin, who was supported by 19 points from Vante Hendrix. Zane Martin had 4 assists in a losing cause for New Mexico, while Makuach Maluach grabbed 8 rebounds.
Nevada was winning at the break before taking care of business in the second half.
Nevada won the battle of the boards, outrebounding their counterparts 47-23.
Next game, Nevada takes its act on the road to face Colorado State looking for another win. For New Mexico, they head home to face San Diego State.
